The Beginner Restart
Your first seven days back after a long break.

Your first seven days back after a long break.
You do not need to “make up” for the months or years you were inactive.
You cannot compress six months of consistency into Saturday afternoon.
The first job is not transformation.
The first job is returning next week.
Day 1
Walk or perform another easy aerobic activity for 10–20 minutes.
Finish feeling capable of doing more.
Day 2
Complete a simple full-body session.
Squat or sit-to-stand.
Push-up variation or chest press.
Row.
Hip hinge.
Carry or simple core exercise.
One or two sets each.
Day 3
Rest or take an easy walk.
Day 4
Move for 10–25 minutes.
Choose something you can repeat.
Day 5
Repeat your full-body session.
If the first session was appropriately challenging, use similar weights.
You do not need to increase something every single workout.
Day 6
Do something enjoyable.
Walk.
Dance.
Swim.
Cycle.
Garden.
Play with your children.
Fitness is bigger than gym attendance.
Day 7
Rest and review.
Your goal for Week 2 is not to double everything.
It is to repeat enough that exercise begins to feel normal again.
